A personal sense of achievement as a learner

This past year has been a wonderful experience for me as a learner. Not only did I conduct the IB Diploma Coordinators workshop at Hyderabad, India but also presented a paper on Blended Learning at the recently concluded IB Regional conference at Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia.

Though I do say it was a wonderful learning opportunity, I was excited and nervous too at the same time. The preparation was time consuming and time had to be made during weekends for it. But I have realized something about my self, that I do enjoy learning and learn best when there is some formal forum that marks a certain culmination to the learning. I think, it is rather obvious that we are all motivated when there is a clear objective, but I had to experience it to see how well it worked for me.

Just as these pictures of the Golconda fort at Hyderabad and the twin towers at Kaula Lumpur, these majestic buildings that will last for a long time in their power and glory, I will like to continue to be a life long learner, challenging myself out of my comfort zone to seek the world that is so full of opportunities to learn. The important lesson to be remembered is that I need to think of an objective, a goal or a target, irrespective of it being small or big to work towards achieving the learning.
